Cherish the time you have, and the memories you share
... being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility.

Channel fever... Endless inane conversation... Weird smelling air... The cementing of friendships that would last 'til they all crawled into the 'No Deposit, No Return' box and applied for the six foot plot in the Federal Sailors Farm. Good men... Good boat... Strong coffee... Lousy conversation... Silver dolphins.  Wouldn't have missed it for all the money in the world.

Chuck Gilson was asked at the last minute to have a few words of prayer and remembrance for our departed shipmates.  Fred Holcomb was originally scheduled to do these honors, but had to cancel attendance at the last minute due to hurricane Katrina.

Chuck had some fine words to say of praise and respect for these men, and for all who attended, and and also for those who might need our thoughts to be with them.
                               ...Thank you, Chuck

...Oft times we must be reminded to look deep within our souls To proclaim to all people for whom it is the death bell tolls.
