1. Not enough info
2. Name too common, too many possibilities
3. Tried all possibilities found, but did not locate the right man

|An 'E-FILE' has been created to track search progress and record attemted communications. To better track the search to a conclusion, all details are noted in a separate file kept for each man to record each element of the search effort, and to focus on what might be further needed to locate a man. For those already found communications and address changes are tracked. These files are for admin purposes, and are not accessible on the web site.|
CONTRIBUTORS, SOURCES, & UPDATE
|30 Jan 2007 - The microfilmed copies of the
quarterly muster rolls at the National Archives II in
College Park, Maryland have been reviewed. During 3
1/2 days of difficult reading and interpretation of some
poor quality microfilms a large quantity of material was
copied. Although not every single quarter was
checked, no year had less than 2 quarters checked and
copied for later data extraction, most had all quarters
checked and names extracted. All of the data has now
been extracted and included on the roster lists.
With the possible exception of a few short timers or
TAD's, the web site rosters now contain nearly every man
who served in Sabalo**.

Some recollections of various men, and other sources, have supplied some names of men reported to have served on Sabalo that have not to date been found in the official records. A list of these names is now collected on the MYSTERY MEN page. Please check out the list and see if anything rings a bell. CLICK HERE
|21 Apr 2009 - As a result of intensified searching over the past six months for men listed on the rosters, but not previously located, many additional men have been located, and also much additional personal information has been added to the rosters and personal 'bio' pages. Unfortunately, there are many cases of finding that our shipmates have passed away. Some were determined to have died a number of years ago, but, sadly, even the number since our April 2007 reunion includes many names. Be sure to review the rosters, if you haven't done so in some time, and check on your old friends. If you see anything that might be added, please be sure to communicate.|
very initial list was composed from my memory (getting
weaker by the day), persons signing off on my qual sheet,
the memory of John LeConte, EM3, and searching at these few
sites and elsewhere on the internet.
The Directory of Online Submariners is found at:Note: Many email addresses found on these sites are no longer good.
Many men have provided various information about their shipmates. Below are listed some of the major, early contributors to the ship's rosters.
26 Jan 01 - Don Nelson, STS2(SS) sent me a scan of a list of autographs of 58 crew members, ca. Sep '69. A few illegible, but all those readable are now included.
9 Feb 01 - Jim Palmer, ET3(SS) has supplied a copy of his
compiled list of 70+ shipmates. Some are duplicates of
those found elsewhere, but all have been included.

25 April 04 Larry Douglas provided copies of the complete
patrol reports for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th "simulated war

These provided approximately 30-40 new listings, and
corrections and additions to approx. 40-50 other men.
